This is the first of many posts I will be making about actions you can take to combat the political coup by Donald Trump and his associates. These suggestions come from Jamelle Bouie’s TikTok account.

• Contact your representatives, even if they are Republicans, and demand answers related to the risks involved with allowing Elon Musk and DOGE unfettered access to the U.S. Treasury Payment system and other sensitive government information. If you have Democratic representatives urge them to make some noise.
• Residents of blue states should contact their state Attorney General’s and Governor’s office and encourage them to begin filing lawsuits and make public statements taking a stand against the Trump administration.

Bouie stresses that the most important thing we can do is convince the public that something terrible is happening right now. So get out there and make your voices heard and encourage your elected officials and community leaders at the state and local levels to do the same.
